Best simple money tracker
As someone who doesn’t have a fixed income I literally love Monefy for money tracking. It’s clean, simple, and having the different categories for different types of spending is an amazing feature! I can see just what I spent for the month which is something I struggled to visualize.
I love that adding and subtracting money is really easy too! If you are a young person or teenager looking to keep track of your money I highly recommend!! Things to improve: I really wish they had a way to easily track monthly subscriptions such as Netflix and factor it in automatically. Also, I would love an option to take photos of receipts!!
Good app! But…
I just downloaded Monefy and the first thing I have to say is that there was NO tutorial. I had no idea what I was doing for the first 5 minutes and couldn’t figure out how the expenses/income worked. I figured it out eventually but a tutorial would’ve saved me a bit of frustration. Otherwise Monefy seems pretty reliable and I think I’ll be using it a lot in the future.
A side note I would like to add is that I wanted to set mine to dark mode but I have to pay for the pro version to change the appearance of Monefy ?! That just seems stupid to me. Every app I use is set to dark mode to put my sensitive eyes at ease and was a bit disappointed to find out I had to pay for dark mode. Overall Monefy is good. 🙂
Great look and feel to the app
The only complaint I would have for Monefy is the recurring options when in dark theme are so confusing. I can’t tell which option is selected. In the regular theme you can see clearly the options you want on recurring charges area green when selected. But the dark theme seems to be randomly gray or darker gray. Other than this Monefy seems great so far and I haven’t had any issues. It looks good and it’s easy to input debits and credits.
Great app for expense tracking
I’ve been using Wally before it became all convoluted so I was looking for another expense tracker, and this app was just what I was looking for, simple and aesthetically appealing. I do hope there’s an option to remove the income input though since I only want it as an expense tracker. I hope it becomes easier to export it.
As of right now, when you click export, it doesn’t even give you the option to email it, which would be the easiest way to transfer it to my pc. Also, would be nice if there were additional icons. I paid for the Pro version in a heartbeat despite these though.
More icons?
I like Monefy a lot and purchased the pro version. One thing I wish to have is a more variety of more relatable icons for categories, and be able to choose the color of the each of the available icons. For example, I can’t find an icon that truly represents the category of beauty/makeup/ skin care.
They don’t categorized as haircut scissors or toiletries for me.
Makes it less convenient when I log those categories and wastes time when I try to figure out which icon category is the closest to the actual product / spending.
